you can always trust ludovic llorca. once a year he locks himself in his studio and works the magic which results in a local talk release. his previous releases on local talk, the same thing (classic proto housemeets-baggy us garage vibe) the rainbow song (it sounds like an underground summer anthem in waiting) are lt classics and now, ludo returns with a third release, i just can t ep. while some producers struggle with new ideas, trying to re-invent the genre, ludo sticks to what he knows best. strings and chords combined with a thick and squelchy bass is the foundation of the title track while on the flip, dirty stories, is as hypnotic as it is jackin, in fact, both tracks are so irresistible you d start wondering if ludo stole them from a snake charmer.

wolfram says: i started to record the track cant remember when i was in africa and some riots happened in egypt in 2013. it was a weird time so it turned out to be a dark tune with robotic vocals. i recorded the vocals for the track talking to you when i was on tour with andy butler in the hotel room on my macbook air. basically its him saying this beat is talking to you and i recorded some burp sounds on the flight and train home. i invited him to my home studio to change the demo vocals, but he felt asleep on the chair next to me. so, i thought maybe i should just the use the demo macbook vocals.

comes on nice chunky 180grams vinyl! september, back to school again. in one side one of our favourite house artists from paris: le loup. cant stop is a funky and solid uptempo banger and cherish pauses the bpms blowing our mind out to another world showing how versatile can le loup be doing house music. on the other side one of our favourite newcomer from holland: junktion. smooth talking and lazy grind tracks are simply straight forward house music, hedonist and actual, but with some classic tricks that reminds us, in some way, to old legends.

cult melbourne band primitive calculators cut a single in 1979 before splitting in the true punk fashion. a posthumous eponymous live album was released in 1981 (also reissued this spring on desire) and that was it. those two tracks are as fresh now as they were more than 30 years ago: in a style not dissimilar to the screamers or cabaret voltaire (circa nag nag nag), primitive calculators used raw monophonic synth lines with scratchy guitars and screaming vocals but the songs were standing on their own (as the unplugged version of do that dance that appears on the primitive calculators and friends 1979-82 could testify. the original 7 inch is now incredibly rare and hard to find and this reissue is its exact replica. first pressing limited to 500 copies.

> cant wait<,is reminiscent of some of vonstrokes deeper classics while also pushing further into new territory. a sense of restraint and release play games throughout this melancholy tune with a fat bassline locking down the groove. >cant wait< has fleeting moments of euphoria that are both surprising and uplifting especially for a summer open air crowd. coming up strong on the b-side, >the clapping track< shows us the fun side of vonstroke where he cuts apart 16 claps and then brings them back together - building up to a standing ovation as a resonate organ sounds. this house anthem has already been destroying the dirtybird ibiza residency and summer festival circuit as well.
